History of these classes

Our society is changing faster than ever. Traditional beliefs crumble in the face of new knowledge. We're increasingly exposed to people, problems, and perspectives from around the world. Mixing with people of different backgrounds and circumstances, our limitations and biases are becoming more apparent. Knowledge is changing, culture is changing, our lives are changing, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed or disoriented.

The pandemic has been an extraordinarily turbulent and traumatic time in many ways. But people have already been feeling stressed and confused about how to find meaning, purpose, peace, and strength amidst all this change.

Meditation has been a key part of my life since I was a child. From 2000-2010 I taught meditation and organized a meditation center full time. I was a Buddhist monk from 2000-2014. Since that time I've worked in technology. I've learned to appreciate the amount of complexity we're dealing with, but also the degree to which peoples' virtuous minds are the foundation for their happiness and success at work.

My goal is to provide advice and insights, without religious trappings, that help us make sense of the interplay between ourselves and our world. These classes are an opportunity to offer encouragement and advice on how to navigate an increasingly complex world without losing our peace of mind and good heart.
